Well a trip out of the house on Feb 26th to get some shots of a major snow fall and to escape from my computer resulted in a complete surprise! When I approached the swollen Norwalk River here in Wilton one of these birds about flew in my face. I am in no way a bird photographer -- there was no tripod or 400mm lens -- but I did the best that I could and shot quickly as these guys are quick and illusive and never stick around long. There were females along with the males who stand out, creating this wonderful color against the snow.
